Aloha
We are sending this message using my Amateur Radio equipment as a test to show how we
might be able to communicate in an emergency, even if Internet and phone are unavailable
in our area.
You can reply via Internet email because the Ham Radio Winlink organization provides
a bridge to Amateur Radio. Our group's Ham Radio equipment may continue
to operate depending on the severity of the emergency. (we know a lot about radio communication).
We have equipment used to learn about the science of radio, and use it to frequently meet over the air, to
experiment and work together on interesting projects. In a real emergency we are in contact to help
each other and to help the community. It's a great hobby and a community service!
In an emergency you could send a reply using your email account by addressing it to:
{MsgSender}@winlink.org
So it can be recognized as a non-commercial message permitted on Amateur Radio
frequencies, the Ham Radio Winlink software requires the subject line of your message
have the following information. We added it in our outgoing message to you so if you
use REPLY it will be accepted. If you create an email to reply, just be careful to include
//WL2K somewhere in your subject line.
//WL2K reply to {MsgSender}
Remember all messages using Amateur Radio are public. There is no privacy!
Regards,
